Openlot Cancellation Policies

At openlot, we allow equipment owners to choose from three cancellation policies – flexible, moderate, and strict. A long term policy applies to any rentals of one month or more.

  • Flexible:

    • Full refund prior to delivery of equipment minus the cancellation fee
    • A $50 cancellation fee is non-refundable. This fee covers cancellation transaction costs
    • Once the equipment is on route to the delivery address, the delivery and pickup fees are non-refundable.
    • If a reservation is cancelled, any fees associated with any remaining days will be refunded
    • Applicable taxes will be retained and remitted
    • If there is a complaint from either party, notice must be given to OpenLot within 24 hours of delivery. Openlot will mediate any disputes when necessary and has final say in all disputes
    • A cancellation is official when a user clicks the cancellation button on the account management page
  • Moderate:

    • Full refund 1 day before the delivery date minus the cancellation fee
    • A $50 cancellation fee is non-refundable. This fee covers cancellation transaction costs
    • If a reservation is cancelled, after the full refund date, 50% of the fees associated with any remaining days will be refunded
    • Once the equipment is on route to the delivery address, the delivery and pickup fees are non-refundable.

    • Full refund 5 days before the delivery date minus the cancellation fee
    • A $50 cancellation fee is non-refundable. This fee covers cancellation transaction costs

    • If a reservation is cancelled, after the full refund date, 25% of the fees associated with any remaining days will be refunded
    • Applicable taxes will be retained and remitted
    • If there is a complaint from either party, notice must be given to OpenLot within 24 hours of delivery. Openlot will mediate any disputes when necessary and has final say in all disputes
    • A cancellation is official when a user clicks the cancellation button on the account management page
  • Long term:

    • The Long Term cancellation policy applies to all bookings of 1 month or more
    • A 5% cancellation fee is non-refundable. This fee covers cancellation transaction costs
    • Full refund 14 days before the delivery date minus the cancellation fee
    • After 14 days before the delivery date, 1 month rental is non-refundable. The remainder of the rental is 50% refundable.
    • Once equipment is on route to the delivery address, the delivery fee is non-refundable.
    • If a reservation is cancelled, after the full refund date, 25% of the fees associated with any remaining days will be refunded
    • Applicable taxes will be retained and remitted
    • If there is a complaint from either party, notice must be given to OpenLot within 24 hours of delivery. Openlot will mediate any disputes when necessary and has final say in all disputes
    • A cancellation is official when a user clicks the cancellation button on the account management page

Note that cancellation policies may be superseded by the OpenLot refund policy or extenuating circumstances at openlot’s discretion. They may also be modified with written notice.
